Etymology of Mosdenia:
E.E. Galpin (1858-1941) retired in 1917 to a farm near Naboomspruit which he named Mosdene, after an English family estate. There he collected Mosdenia.
Etymology of waterbergensis:
Named after the Waterberg region in Limpopo Province.
