Etymology of Pseuderanthemum:
Gk. pseudes = false; er = spring; anthemon = flower. Some plants of this genus were at first placed in the genus Eranthemum, a related genus and confusingly similar.

From the Latin alba = 'white' and coeruleus = 'dark blue' or 'sky blue'
