Cormous geophyte, 4--12 cm, corms with an oblique basal ridge. Basal leaves several, 4-winged, ciliate. Flowers rose to lilac or pink with yellowish cup. Aug.--Sept. Clay soils, NW, KM (W Karoo and Cold Bokkeveld to Tweedside).
