Lax shrub to 1.5 m, sometimes sparsely woolly in the axils. Leaves lanceolate to linear, spreading. Flower heads radiate, solitary on short peduncles in the upper axils, yellow. Achenes densely white-hairy, mucilaginous when wet. Dec.--June. Rocky watercourses, NW (Hex River Mts and Karoo to Lesotho).
