Dioecious, deciduous, armed shrub or small tree to 6 m. Leaves trifoliolate, leaflets sessile, obovate, often hairy. Flowers pale yellow. Drupes round, smooth. Oct.--Jan. Near watercourses in karroid scrub, KM, LB, SE (Ladismith to Botswana and Namibia).
