Etymology of Caralluma:
Caralluma is named from the Arabian qarh alluhum = a flesh wound or abscess; perhaps referring to the erect, fleshy, diffusely branched stem.
Etymology of multiflora:
From the Latin multi meaning ‘many’; and the Latin flora meaning ‘flower’. i.e. it has abundant flowers
