Perennial climber to 3 m. Leaves palmatisect with 5--7 lanceolate segments. Flowers mauve, sepals glabrous, obtuse. Oct.--Feb. SW, SE (Uitenhage to tropical Africa and Asia but weedy on the Cape Peninsula).
