Short etymology:
Gk. iatros = physician; trophe = food, nutrition. Hugh Glen comments that, ‘some species have medicinal value, but most are poisonous.’ (In 2005, Western Australia banned J. gossypiifolia, as it is invasive and highly toxic to humans and animals.)
